Hello, thanks for stopping by! I'm Winston from Singapore, and I'm a hobbyist into pencil portraits. I started drawing in October 2013, and was active until early 2015.
My dream is to build a gallery of celebrity portraits. Apart from drawing, I enjoy studying and brushing up foreign language skills (Japanese).

Hello my friends, I am back to deviantART! I have been away for a while and I hope all of you are doing well and still into drawing. For me, the past month has been an exhausting one, but I take pride that I am finally serving the last phase of my military service as a trained Infantry Signaller. With just a field camp and an overseas exercise left, I've started to put my goals in sight again - namely realism drawing (BW and colour) and studying the Japanese language. Regarding realism drawing, I put in much effort in August, producing "Gracious in Defeat". I acknowledge the flaws it has, and I do admit I have a long way to go, but at my curr

5 months of 2014 have flew by just like that. In this span of 5 months, I've completed 5 portraits which now comprise my female portrait Series I. I'll start on males now, and I hope to draw heartthrobs like Johnny Depp and Hugh Jackman. In the meantime, I've just cleared the first phase of a very trying and hectic period in my military service. Many late nights and intense trainings pretty much summarize it. I have 2 weeks to go before the end of my second phase.
I hope to be able to spend more time on drawing come June, and of course I hope to make good progress on the male series. Also, I've concluded that it's reasonably hard to get cele

I've been into portrait drawing for a short while now - 6 months since my first deviantART piece. I write this from a point of weakness and critique. I assume this is the plateau that people talk of in any hobby - when one has to toil painstakingly with no end in sight until a hard-earned breakthrough. The cycle perpetuates until the plateau reaches a level so high that flaws are barely apparent. Even then, the practitioner is likely to feel dissatisfied.
