Nozomi Sasaki - Nihon Through My Eyes

This is my drawing of Nozomi Sasaki (佐々木 希), the Japanese actress who starred in the 2009 romance movie, "My Rainy Days." In the words of the male lead, Nozomi is pushy, aggressive, yet delicate. She is really, really beautiful and has this alluring air about her, and I really hope I brought that out in this drawing (or at least some of that charm). <3

As usual, I used pencils ranging from 6H to 8B, with LYRA for the lighter tones and Staedtler for 7B and 8B. It took me about 50 hours too.

I tried very hard to minimise the blotchy effect that surfaced (as per my Emma Watson drawing), and also took much effort in rendering the facial tones to make the drawing look more 3 dimensional. Of course, I will love feedback about this.

As always, this drawing is memorable because it spanned a very trying 3 weeks. I had numerous overnight duties to do in my military service, but amidst this I found the free time after working hours to draw this. The hair was especially tedious, you may notice that the hair at the bright side of the drawing is significantly more detailed than that of the left; the reason being I was really burnt out and facing time constraint as I neared the end.

P.S.: I chanced upon an excellent artist on dA who has lots of autographed portraits (by many famous celebrities). It is my dream to do so too. ^^
