Hello my friends, I am back to deviantART! I have been away for a while and I hope all of you are doing well and still into drawing. For me, the past month has been an exhausting one, but I take pride that I am finally serving the last phase of my military service as a trained Infantry Signaller. With just a field camp and an overseas exercise left, I've started to put my goals in sight again - namely realism drawing (BW and colour) and studying the Japanese language. Regarding realism drawing, I put in much effort in August, producing "Gracious in Defeat". I acknowledge the flaws it has, and I do admit I have a long way to go, but at my current skill level I believe that was the best I could do.
Recently, I purchased a 36 colour pencil set, and attempted a face portrait. Sadly, the result was unflattering! Of course, I'm taking it in my stride because that was just my first attempt. Nevertheless, coloured (and hyperrealistic) works by incredible artists like Dirk Dzirmirsky, Denis Peterson and my friend, Ivan, have inspired my greatly. I would love to take baby steps towards those standards, but at the moment my knowledge and skill in anything beyond graphite is lacking immensely. I shall start by being more active on deviantART and seeking correspondence, let's hope by the end of November I'll be fully free from most military obligations, leaving time for more drawing!
